About Us

The daughter..

I am a London-based artist currently completing my Master’s Degree in Printmaking at the Royal College of Art.

My practice typically explores the physical processes of how analogue film can be manipulated by designing and making my own peculiar pinhole cameras. I have had my work exhibited in galleries across London and the Midlands.

In my spare time I enjoy the meditative processes of crocheting and macramé, making smaller items such as hats and pillows to bigger items such as blankets and wall hangings.. and of course signs!

The dad..

Upon leaving school I trained for a few years as a sign maker as growing up I had always enjoyed the creative process of designing and making things.

Then with the rapid expansion of computing and tech in the late 80’s I decided to enter the world of engineering and IT in which I have spent the majority of my career.

After finding myself being made redundant during the pandemic I had time to explore what I would like to do. I definitely wasn’t ready to retire! I had never forgotten or how much I enjoyed my time spent as a sign maker and had often thought about.

So after some research into house signs Amber and I decided we would design, create and sell our own.
And so… knot.simple was born

We design, create and deliver unique house signs that are both easy to fit and are competitively priced. The signs we sell are all made of modern, clear acrylic which can easily be customised and made to order. They come complete with all fittings and instructions.
